Why Call Her Et Seti-Ra?

Our Sunshine after the Storm

All our cats have Egyptian inspired pet names, so we decided to give little Setra an Official Name to follow suit.

Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra, better known at home as Setra is named for the two ancient Egyptian gods Set and Ra. Set being the god of storms and sun god Ra his companion. In addition to this SeTiRa is Hebrew for contradiction, coming from the same root as the word SeTeR, meaning hidden secret. So while both the gods our Setra is named for are depicted as male, together they become contradictory and form a female name that we like to think of as our little bit of “sunshine after the storm”.

Of course we also like the fact that her name sounds like the word etcetera! ;)
