Now that our queen Ch. Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) is enjoying her time off from motherhood, and her daughter Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra (Setra) is busy growing into a beautiful young lady,  we will be showing them both at at least a few shows. They certainly like them and they keep them both busy until it’s time for Isis to visit her next gorgeous stud and come home to us with a belly full of kittens to keep her happy! We will also be breeding Setra when she is mature enough and have already picked out a gorgeous first mate for her.  We will list any and all shows we have been to on this page, along with photos of any ribbons the girls comes home with!  If you happen to see us and Isis at a cat show, do come over and say hello as we love meeting people...

December 19th 2009 - The Maidstone & Medway Cat Show

After missing the Supreme thanks to a horrid chest cold that affected all the family, Setra finally got her debut as an Adult. What’s more she had a ‘Red Card Day’ - meaning that she won every class she was entered in, also bringing home the Best of Breed! Talk about making an impact and making an impression... :)

November 21st 2009 - The Supreme Cat Show

I can be found at the Scottish Wildcats Association table part of the day, for those of you who wish to drop by an say hello.  When I’m not there, I’m sure someone there will know where I am!

October 18th 2009 - The Kentish Cat Society Show

An excellent day out, seeing Ch. Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) enter her first Grand Class, looking to earn herself a GCC. While she didn’t win the class we were extremely pleased with her 2nd place, especially since she won two of her side classes and places 3rd in the other!

September 19th 2009 - The Bucks, Oxon & Berks Cat Show

Once more Setra (Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra) had a wonderful day out, winning her Open Class and gaining another Best of Breed. She also had a wonderful time playing with the young sorrel male in the pen next to her (Mikkar Fire Apache), they are almost exactly the same age and greatly enjoyed themselves.

September 5th 2009 - The Hertfordshire & Middlesex Cat Show

Both Ch. Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) and her daughter Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra (Setra) won their Open Class at this show in addition to them both gaining Best of Breed.  In fact Setra had a “Red Card Day” meaning that she won every class she was in, which is amazing for just her second show outing and considering the competition she had in the “AV Foreign Kitten (6-9 months)” side class. Isis did nearly as well, gaining 1st’s in all her classes but one where she came 3rd.  We are all incredibly proud of the girls, who are currently being spoilt rotten! :)

August 15th 2008 - The Three Counties Cat Show

This was Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) first show of the year and boy did she do us proud! :) I am therefore thrilled to announce that she is now officially Ch. Mikkar Ladylynx after getting her 3rd CC, while up against some stiff competition. Isis also won Best of Breed, gaining a second Three Counties BoB medal, plus placing 2nd in two side classes.

June 20th 2009 - The Abyssinian Cat Club’s 26th Annual Show

What a day for Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra (Setra), she did us really proud coming home with a 1st in her Open Class, 1st in her Club Class, plus a 2nd and 4th in her side classes.  As if that wasn’t already enough she won the "Aby Cat" trophy for the Best Usual Female Kitten, the "Damsteeg Bastet Cup", the "Robstine Eirlys Award" and won us the "Hiridge Cup" for the Breeder of the Best Usual female kitten! All this and being relaxed and happy all day! :)

November 22nd 2008 - The GCCF Supreme Cat Show

Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) will be on Exhibit at the Supreme with the Abyssinian Cat Association, in Club Row.

October 18th 2008 - The Kentish Cat Society Show

It was an excellent day out, although Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) came up against some very stiff competition at this show and only managed a 3rd in the Open. We will therefore have to wait until next spring/summer to show try and get her 3rd CC and therefore her GCCF Champion status. Although she excelled in one of her side classes coming away with a 1st against some other Junior Foreign type cats. We were very pleased with this as it’s the last time she’ll be able to show as a Junior, as she turns 2 years old in late December. All in all we are thrilled with how well she’s done in her first year of showing and are pleased to say she seems to like all the attention it brings! :)

September 20th 2008 - The Bucks, Oxon & Berks Cat Show

While Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) didn’t manage to win her Open Class this show, she did come a very respectable 2nd.  On top of this she came 1st in the Foreign Junior Adult (that’s cats under 2 yrs old) side class, against 6 other foreign breed type cats, so once more we’re thrilled with her performance even if we had hoped for a third Challenge Certificate (CC) so she could obtain her GCCF Champion status.  Other than that there was a lovely turn out of female Abys, so we had one of each of the 4 major colours present all in a row - such a lovely sight! :)

September 6th 2008 - The Hertfordshire & Middlesex Cat Show

Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) was at her very best and came home with a rosette for every class she was entered in, even the larger side classes!  Though her crowing achievement had to be winning her Open Class, getting her second Challenge Certificate (CC) out of the three she needs to have from different judges to obtain her GCCF Champion status, as well as winning Best of Breed. As I’m sure you’ll understand we’re thrilled with her achievements and are so proud that she’s learnt to show herself off to the judges, so they too can see why we think she’s just fantastic! :)

August 16th 2008 - The Three Counties Cat Show

This was Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) third show and the old adage of 3rd time lucky held true!  Not only did our lovely girl come 1st in her Open Class, but got her first Challenge Certificate (CC) and the Best of Breed! :) She now needs just 2 more CC’s awarded by 2 more judges and she will gain Champion status. I guess the icing on the cake for us was the lovely comment the Judge wrote on the back of her CC, praising her condition! :)

Just to top it off Isis placed 2nd in the Abyssinian or Rex Class, 3rd in the Foreign Non-Breeders Female and 3rd Best Foreign... :)

As a treat I took Isis for her first professional photo session, the results of which should be here in 7 to 10 days time! Boy did she love the camera and all the attention... :)

August 2nd 2008 - The Eastern Counties Cat Show

This was Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) second show, but the first multi-breed show she’s ever been to. It was more than 3 times the size of the ACC show, but with a great venue and despite the morning’s bad weather it was a wonderful experience for us all!  We only entered Isis in 4 classes this time, so she had plenty of time to learn how to relax more in a show pen.  I’m pleased to say it worked and she was much more her usual self, grooming, eating and eyeing up the Bengal Studs across the way from her pen! ;)  This more relaxed attitude paid off somewhat and she came home with a 2nd in the Open and her Club Class, her other two Miscellaneous Classes had very large entry levels so sadly she didn’t place in either of those, but when you have so many cats in a class it’s not surprising, when she’s up against show veterans that are used to it all and completely at home with the whole procedure of judging.  After all if a judge sees two cats who are equally as good as each other in every respect physically, they’re always going to pick the one who’s personality shines through!

So we feel that Isis has learnt a lot from this show, she certainly is a better traveller than she was and much more relaxed in general.  Hopefully she will keep learning and enjoying the attention, she certainly did yesterday when she had a surprise visit from her son Dizzy’s family!  We of course enjoy this side of Showing and had a lovely time seeing some of our friends and fellow Aby Breeders and visiting the trade stands... :)

This was Mikkar Ladylynx (Isis) debut show, we were really pleased with the results see photo above of her two 1st place ribbons and three 2nd place ones.
