Our Neutered Males

As I have said, I fell in love with the Abyssinian Breed many years ago now in Toronto.  Finally finding myself in the right situation to open my home to one just over 2 yrs ago, when I adopted Ch Myleenus Sir Lynxalot another of Gr Ch Myleenus Lordofthelynxs offspring, when he retired from Show and Stud at an early age.

Other than being Ladylynx’s older half-brother, Sir Lynxalot or as we know him Ramses (Ramy), is a real character and remarkably intelligent. He’s certainly got me and my family fully trained! He’s very fond of being brushed and will go and bring you his brush or talk to you in a plaintive voice if he sees you using a hair brush if the mood takes him.  He certainly keeps us entertained and has been a source of joy since he joined our household.

Ramses is a very loving cat, though he’s pretty much a one person cat - but luckily for me I’m his one person!  He and Isis are best friends and pretty much constant companions, he even travels with her when I take her to a Stud which saves her from getting stressed at a time when we’d like her to stay nice and relaxed, so I guess he can be considered my assistant! ;) He’s also taken on the role of assistant kitten supervisor and guard, most unusual for a former Stud cat, but he seems to love it never the less.  He happily spends hours watching over Ladylynx and her kittens, often letting her take a well deserved nap while he takes over.  He’s even trying very hard to help litter train the kittens at present, honestly there doesn’t seem to be a job that he’s not willing to have a go at as long as Isis and I shower him in love and attention! He’s a little shy at times with people he doesn’t know, so don’t be too surprised if you don’t see that much of him if you visit us... Although he seems to be getting bolder all the time, so you never know!

Ramy and Isis really will share anything, including treats...

Day 45 - Ramses & kittens02

Ramses is even happy to have a nap with the kittens when given the chance! :)

Our other neutered male is Tigmut’hep, mostly called Tigger or Tigs. He’s an RSPCA rescue cat with FLUTD, who kept running away from home with his original owners, or so we were told.  Since bringing him home over 7 years ago we’ve had a hard time getting him to move, maybe a slight exaggeration, but he’s never shown us any signs of wishing to run away from here!

Tigmut’hep has a real love for toys and teddy bears, mostly he’s our son’s cat and constant companion. I’m not sure which of them likes the toy cars and Lego most at the moment! Built on a totally different scale to our lovely Abyssinians he’s a really laid-back type a total people pleaser and as calm as they come, but somehow he manages to be the Boss cat…

Most afternoons find all our cats together for a communal nap!
