Isis is an excellent example of Abyssinian Breed Type and since her debut at at the 25th Abyssinian Cat Club Show, where we are pleased to say she bought home a number of rosettes (two 1st’s and three 2nd’s).  She has gone on to show at a number of other shows and has now gained 4 Challenge Certificates, more than enough to gain her Champion’s title.  Isis really seems to enjoy the attention she gets at shows, but we don’t do too many so that it will always remain as a fun thing for her to do occasionally.

Our future second queen is Isis daughter Lovelynx Et Seti-Ra (Setra), we intend to keep one or two more her (or Setra’s) offspring at some point in the future as it’s nice to be able to showing cats we’ve breed ourselves. In addition to this it looks like some of her kittens might well be showing with their new families, while others will just be well loved pets.  Any kittens bred by us that show can have a mention on our Show Lynx page, in fact we love hearing how our kittens are doing and really encourage new owners to keep in touch over the years.  We are so thrilled that Isis has give us a daughter to keep from her most recent litter, to show and go on to breed with us under the Lovelynx name.

Isis is a very sweet, friendly and playful cat, spending much of her time playing with her kittens, us or the other cats, especially her half-brother Ramses (Ch. Myleenus Sir Lynxalot).  Isis and Ramses really are the best of friends and most days we find them at some point curled up together grooming each other, or just enjoying a nap time snuggle - even when she has kittens she and Ramses still make time for each other. Her favourite toys are her collection of little furry mice and her feather wand (which takes a real beating at times) and more recently her catnip squirrel.  While her favourite treats are cat milk, malt kisses or a spoonful of yoghurt! To help keep her happy and stress free, Ramses sometimes travels with Isis when we take her to Stud as this helps keep her nice and calm!

Isis other love in life is posing for photos, at the sight of a camera she tends to start striking poses and is happy to look straight at the lens, which has allowed me to get some really lovely photos of her, keeping her photo album growing all the time!

Like the rest of our cats, Isis is a house cat though we have an attached outside run in which they all play when ever the weather is good.  Since Abyssinian cats are good climbers this also gives them a chance to climb and burn off some energy, keeping her fit and healthy.  Exercise and nutrition are vital to keeping any cat in good health, but it is doubly important in the life of a breeding female.

Ladylynx’s first mating was with Ron & Barbara Darby of Silversmoke Abyssinians Gr Ch Silversmoke Dan Dare (Dan) and she had 4 wonderful little usual/ruddy kittens in the wee small hours of March 9th, 2008.  One gorgeous little daughter and 3 fantastic sons! While her second mating was with Jill Davison’s gorgeous sorrel stud Ch. Pussini Solo, who gave Isis 2 beautiful daughters and 1 outstanding son, the son has gone to Pisa as a Show and Stud Cat, while one of her 2 daughters from Solo has remained here with us, as our second queen and show girl.  Most recently Isis has a litter with Mycene Howell Dha.  However we have just had Legend Devlin join us and it is hoped that he will father her next few litters, before we retire her.  Isis is a first rate mother and just so happy and relaxed about the whole thing.  Right from day one she is happy for us to handle the kittens as needed and if I don’t pay them enough attention she actually brings them to me to show them off!  As with all other aspects of her life, she’s also happy to share the kittens with our other cats especially her brother Ramses, who seems to take his role as Uncle quite seriously and likes nothing better than to stand watch over the kittens, or play with them when they are big enough, letting Isis gets a little extra rest! This means from the start the kittens are socialised to people and other cats, giving them a wonderful start in life.

All in all Isis is a real darling and so are her kittens, they seem to be born ready for love and cuddles, so we only let them go to homes where they will be treasured and loved all their lives.
